We are fortunate to work in a beautiful part of the world. Glandyfi Farm is just outside Machynlleth in Mid Wales on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park. The farm name means 'on the banks of the river Dyfi' and we could hardly be closer to the forests, rivers and sea from where we source many of our materials.

Formerly used for housing sheep and cattle, our workshop buildings have been transformed into a productive hub of creativity (but still with lots of on-looking sheep).

Thanks to the internet and our friendly local courier service we are able to operate from this stunning rustic setting and ship a little piece of our rural idyll out to all four corners of the UK.

Free Range Designs is a small family run business comprising a team of local craftspeople. Small really is beautiful for us and we have no intentions of growing to the size of IKEA.

We love making furniture and composting toilets and we love using materials that are on our doorstep: reclaimed Welsh fence posts; fallen oak branches; driftwood from the rivers and sea.

We believe in making furniture we are proud of and that our customers can fall in love with. The smaller the environmental impact and the closer to nature the better. The happier the makers and the happier the customers the better, too!
